Default HID problem!, please help

Ok, I bought a xentec bi-xenon hid kit on ebay. I have used two xentec kits before from the seller and they work great, but they were the low beam kits. I installed it earlier but when I turn on the light, it only works on High beam. Whenever i switch it to low beam, it shuts down. I looked at an installation video of another bixenon kit on youtube and I installed it exactly the same? What can be wrong? Could it be the kit or the car? Thanks.

I'll try that tomorrow morning. Hopefully that solves it.

Hey Aereon, I have a question for you. My drivers side hi/lo is working properly but the passenger side hi/lo is switched. I have a feeling that if I had messed up the wiring harness then both bulbs would be switched correct?

gt2envy- I had the same problem, aereon's solution was the fix

2k1gt- that sounds right to me, the issue maybe in the wiring of the bulb?

Maybe you have reversed polarity on the one side? It's also possible to plug into the ballast the wrong direction as well accidently.. If you have a cheap kit without reversed polarity protection this could be a problem for you 2k1gt

I tried to reverse the ballast plug. The bulb wouldn't fire at all after that. The next thing I will try is to reverse the little connector (third connection at the bulb) which I believe controls the high beams.

the way my high/low kit wired there was no way to mess up on the bulb end, just the ballast end could be reversed..if its a cheap kit it could be a problem within? are your high and low beams reversed or you have no low beams at all only high

The original kit were the slim digital ballasts from American Muscle so they were far from cheap. The bulbs were the cheap replacement ones from DDM though. I ended up figuring it all out. I just rotated the bulb 180* and its works now.
