i use mobil 1 in my car and my bike, no complaints seems like good stuff.
i must say though that i have heard nothing but amazing things in the bike world about amsoil. my only problem with them is i don't plan out my oil changes. when i have a free weekend and feel like changing my oil, i go buy oil and a filter and do it. i don't want to wait for it to come in the mail and i don't want to have a stock pile of oil in my garage that i have to keep track of.

There are only 4 true synthetic motor oils availabel. M1 is not one of them.
All the other synthetic are just highly refined dino oil. That's not a bad thing. They work just fine and don't cause any problems. But you shouldn't pay synthetic prices for it. And it doesn't last as long as the true synthetics.
I use Royal Purple in my street/race car. I overhaul the engine every other year. The last two overhauls were easy to do. The bearings and cylinders were in excellent shape; very clean with almost no wear on them. They look so good, I'm going to stretch it to every 3rd year.
I use M1 in my Harley. I'm not impressed. I works fine, but doesn't last long. The UOA tells me I need to change it pretty often. My next oil change will be M1, but only because I have 4 qts of it in the basement. When that's gone, I'll switch to RP.

I also switched, but I think it's more important to keep it clean more than a specific brand. I also run 5-20 but will go to 5-30 if I go to the track this summer. I like Valvoline. Raced 30 years ago and it has never let me down and engine is always nice & clean inside with normal changes.
