How come the Mach 1 chin doesn't line up with the wheelwells?

I have 4.10's and they are pretty fun. Just be prepared to be going into 3rd when you leave an intersection during normal daily driving. But if your racing it you'll love them.

I studied the pros and cons of the various gears considering what my intended use was. Namely a car for the street and road trips using street tires. I went with the 3.73s. The install shop who also does drive line work for Barber Racing's Mustangs advised me that he considered 3.73s to be the "perfect gear" for the GT. I tend to agree. I can tell that any more gear and I would have traction problems taking off from stop lights. Yet they are easy to light up with a little effort. Like you discovered, it places the car in a more useful range of gears. A tad on the low side, but then it was a performance mod after all.

Cusp - i agree 100%... i was also advised to go 3.73's... And after a long time of debating, i pulled the trigger. i really wanted the 3.90's but i would have had to dish out an extra 80 bucks... I like my gears. They will be nasty with a blower... RPM's are 100% fine with 3.73's. i would have been able to deal with 4.10's i think.. no regrets though. just livin life haha

The mach 1 chin doesnt line up with the bumper bc the bumper is a 99/01 cobra... The chin isnt meant to fit it.. However, it took me and a friend quite a while to install that chin and i am glad we took our time bc some people install the chin on the 99/01 front bumpers and it looks like chit. at least mine looks halfway decent

the difference between the 3.73 and 3.90 is minimal from what i hear, when i got the 3.90 i read that it would slightly pull on someone with 3.73. As far as the front brakes if you do change them i def recommend getting cross drilled and slotted rotors, just them by themselves on my car made a big difference in stopping, add that with bigger pads and your set. Bigger brakes might be the next thing for me, where did you get them from
