Default headers

just a small question but, how long does it take to install a set of BBK "shorty" headers in a 2004 mustang. Studs are good. Also I have access to a lift and air tools.

Thanks in advance

too much time to actually be worth it. Longtubes is where you want to go with the 4.6. Shorties do nothing.

took a week to do mine. don't see how air tools would benifit in this situation. there just isn't enough room for em. lift yes air tools no. so for u with the lift i'd give it a day atleast. the people who say it takes them a couple of hrs are full of sh*t

seems if you're going to spend the time and effort to do this, put long tubes in.

shorty's are like
You: "Yea I drive a mustang."
Friend: "Oh yea? Nice, a GT/cobra/Mach?"
You:"No....a V6"
Friend:".....oh...."

aha no offence V6 guys im jk...but it does happen.

"ohh nice you put headers in??" "yea shorties." "oh....that's...cool..."

I like it!

Before I got my '03 in December of '06 I drove a 2004 V-6 convertible that I could have got for $8k or so. I drove it from the dealer's lot about 1/4 mile up the street and back, and after parking it told the salesman that if I bought it I would spend the rest of my life saying "Wow, I should'a got a V-8!"

that's why i ALWAYS ask myself...."Self, why do people buy '05+ V6 mustangs? The technology is better now to where you aren't getting that much beter gas mileage out of a 6..."

even in the 99-04's... i can get 20-24mpg in stock tune. unless it is the price tag difference bw a V6 and V8, and if you are not into cars then the added HP does not merit the price difference.

I agree with these guys go with the longtubes. I love mine and I had a guy install mine took 7 hours to put in and you will love the sound you get over the shortys.

Since you have a lift (most obviously don't) it will make the job much easier. Definitely do the long tubes.
