Default Educate me on kmembers

I know nothing about them. I saw someone post somehing about it being a good idea for an NA car to swap one out, I thought they were meant for turbo cars? I really know nothing about them. What do they do? Why are they swapped? Educate me! Already tried searh button

They are just lighter.. thats about it. They free up some room also, hence why you need them for a turbo.

I am in the same boat as you are with wondering about these damn K members that everyone keeps buying. As far as I know its just another 500 bucks to spend on these money pits that we all love.

from what i have understood, they are stiffer due to the tubular design and structural geometry all the while lighter than stock K member.

they usually are for tubo setups since kits like the On3 run piping over the LCA right where the stock spring would be...which you switch to coil over for that reason.

im sure there are more reasons, but i think those are the basics lol hopefully Jazzer will chime in or you

So can you just change a k member or do you need to change other stuff as well in order to do it? Not that I'm lookin really to Do it but I just keep seeing kmember thrown around and I haven't a clue about them

I saved close to 50lbs with my PA Racing K member

I love the Kmember in my 03 BUT it rides like a tank now.

It all depends on the k member that you would buy as to the weight savings you would see. The UPR is the lightest from my understanding.

50 pounds is pretty significant. are the aftermarket k members for a tubo different than just a normal aftermarket kmember? Or are they all the same?
