Default Help...

So I let someone new change my oil. Long story short they didnt tighten the oil filter & pretty much all of my oil came out w/o me knowing....Once I figured out the problem I quickly replaced the filter, added oil & some z-max. Welllll now there is a horrible ticking noise coming from the passenger's side of the engine. Can someone tell me if I have completely f'd my engine or if it can be fixed???

Sorry to say this but yes it does sound like that is what happened. Could you guess if it is it a knock on the bottom end or in the valvetrain?

How long/far did you drive with no oil? Did the engine overheat?

I drove it for about a week leaking oil...now it only seems to be making a loud ticking noise from the passenger's side of the engine when I first crank it up in the morning. Then it quits after a few seconds. Im pretty sure it isnt the bottom end. No the engine didnt overheat. & the person I took it to was a friend...So if anything has to be done, its coming out of MY pocket. :/
