Default How reliable?

I'm currently looking for a mustang i like the older ones the best the 88-93 fox bodys, but im considering these too. . How reliable are they? do they break down alot? im mainly looking for a supercharged one, maybe a cobra. are the superchargers reliable? also whats a good price to pay for once in good shape? and how much horsepower do they put out?

Yea most of us beat the hell out of our cars, and they're fine as long as you maintain them properly. the motors can hold a s/c'erpretty well. 10psi is about the known limit for our motors. most of the s/c'er kits are quality kits such as vortech, KenneBell, Procharger, Tork Tech, Paxton, and prob a few im forgeting. Gt's put out 260, Mach 1's put out 315( really about 325ish) and cobras put out 390 ( really around 420)

i wouldnt pay over10k for a GT
i wouldnt pay over 16k for a Mach ( or 99-01 cobra)
i wouldnt pay over 25k for a cobra ( 03-04)

thats just me tho

10 psi? i thought 8 psi is safe but reliable?

either way it's around 400hp on stock intenals (GT at least)

4.6's are a reliable motor, some of thunderbird guys have have over 200K mi on them. keep them maintained and you will be fine. i would think that since cops have them in their cars that they are a hefty motor lol and those can get beat on as well.

Thats actually a pretty good price. Especially for one with 325BHP. I would get it if I were getting one

9 PSI intercooled would be fine to run daily on a stock GT engine IMO.
