As the title states the track in my area finally opened and I was able to get car out. It did exactly what I expected. I have an 01 automatic, with a Vortech V1 8.5lbs of boost, 4.10 gears 28" tall tire and a bunch of suspension stuff. I ran a best of 12.8 @ 108. My best 60' was a 1.9. Stall converter, methanol injection and a powerpipe are next.
Ya you should be running faster ETs than that. Time for new tires.
What suspension work have you done?
I need a new set of tires that with a stall converter should bring my 60 fts down. as far as suspension I have Lakewood 90/10s in front with drag springs, sub frame connectors, adjustable UCAs and LCAs both ends have spherical bushings, drag springs in the rear with an air bag on the passenger side and lakewood 50/50 shocks.
When I do the weight to h/p calculators with my ET and MPH it comes out to about 330 whp, which was exactly what the car was dynoed at. There was another 01 there with about the same HP and we ran identical MPH and times. We were both spinning off the line.
You ever thought about getting an anti-roll bar to help with launches?
I am pretty happy with the suspension and I do still drive the car on the street, so I am not sure about the anti-roll bar. I've got a wish list about a mile long. Next up is a transmission build, with a manual valve body, 3,400-3800 stall and transbrake, then the rear end with 31 spline axles and a locker, then a forged short block, then an intercooler and methanol injection, the list goes on.
I am pretty sure the car is capable of low 12s as it sits, but I am going to bracket race the car in a street class so my only concern right now is consistency and reaction time.
