learning where the clutch engages really helps out, Ive taught a few people on my six and I recommend that cause its got enough torque to make stalling less likely but not so much that you spin the tires. Just practice, and eventually it will become second nature and you wont even think about it. Ask your dad to let you practice somewhere open and flat till you get the basics down and then work on hills. You will stall and you will spin the tires, its part of learning. Good luck and have fun, manuals are so much fun to drive!

the mustang is easy to learn on because the clutch is pretty stiff, so you can feel the engage point nicely (the point where you're letting off the clutch with no gas and the car begins to move.. equivalent to putting an automatic in "D" and letting the brake off). Just put the time in to learn and be patient. it's so much more fun than automatic, and you'll never want to go back to one! watch videos on youtube too.. they'll help!

I actually learned in my dad's 2002 GT - he would just take me to an empty parking lot and let me drive around till I figured it out.. or until he couldnt take anymore, whatever came first

learn it on an uphill slant first, then on flat land it will be cake.

Should be pretty easy with a mustang since the clutch has so much feel. I learned on a 98 Saturn, which has no feel at all. Just remember that the clutch controls the power, not the engine speed. You can have it at 3K RPM and if you let out slow enough, you will never spin. More engine RPM = good at first.

The hardest part is getting into first gear. Have your dad take you to an open parking lot and let you play with the clutch and gas.

You simply just have to get out there and practice.

One thing I tell people is when the clutch is just starting to grab try and even the gas pedal with the clutch pedal. If you don't understand that you will when you feel it in the car. Then as you let the clutch out just give the car a little more gas and it won't be long b4 and you will feel comfortable with it.
