Default LT wrap or spray?

I was told at a auto parts store that I need to wrap or spray my LT headers cause they will get to hot. They are bbk LT headers for a 02 mustang can anyone help me out? Do I need to wrap them or spray them or neither?

If they are ceramic coated you should be fine, but if they are just stainless steel I would spray them.

you don't want to wrap headers on a street car. wrapping headers is more for drag cars that see very little constant use. wrapping the headers keeps the heat in (yes this is what your after) but keeping that heat in destroys the headers. you just want some ceramic coated headers, or if they are stainless have them ceramic coated.

+1 on not wrapping headers on a street car, it traps moisture and that combined with the heat will rot/burn out the pipes in short order.

Also stainless has much lower thermal conductivity (16W/mK vs. 43W/mK) than plain ol' steel, or even ceramic coated mild steel.

Finest kind would be ceramic coated (real ceramic coated, Jet Hot or similar--not rattle-can "ceramic paint") stainless...

You don't need to do either. I have BBK ceramic coated LT's, and they work just fine.
