well, what my problem is is that my father who is a pretty big car guy helps me out when I do these kinds of things and hes old school. He was asking me if I put the metal washer on the plug (like they used back in the day). Well sunday I'm going to torque them all down to 11-13 so i dont have to do this again.

The mechanic also said that whaen he first fired her up to diagnose it, the #5 cyl (not a one with a blown plug) wasnt firing, but after unplugging it and plugging it back up, it eventually started firing and now it runnin great, anyone think that could be related to the blown plug?

---BTW, does $300 for a new COP, helicoil kit and full repair sound like a fair price?? Thats what I've paid twice now....

Helicoil or a Timesert?

If they want to use a helicoil go someplace else, as it will provide a marginal repair at best. The Timesert kits are far superior and provide a permanent that will last as long as the engine.

They used a helicoil. The car has 130,xxx. I figured it would last as long as the engine. Good price?
