Gears then tuner to correct your speedo and give you more hp.

Try to save a little more so you can get gears and tuner (or just get a speedcal for now) at the same time. I heard that if you drive around too long without recalibrating for the new ratio that it will throw the PCM off and send it into some sort of "protected" mode (not sure what that entails, but can't be good).

You have heard correctly sir. +1 to both @ the same time or tuner then gears.

I say keep going with suspension. If you got springs on the way, do some CC Plates, Shocks/Struts, and Upper/Lower Control arms.

^^ Good point, I'd do (and did) some lca's at the same time as springs. You can probably get away without doing shocks & struts for now, depending on the condition of your current ones; but some good c/c plates should be in your near future for sure.
