Default Advice on throttle body / plenum

I am looking to upgrade my throttle body and plenum on my 98 GT. It is stock apart from cold air intake. Does the BBK combo 78mm work on a stock motor or is it too big? I am also looking at the trick flow product (can't afford an Accufab) does anyone have experience with these?

78mm is way to big IMO. I think its just a gimmick for BBK to get their sales up.

I have the Accufab combo, but I wouldnt hesitate to snag anything trickflow. I try to steer clear of anything BBK, hell I try to not even be on the same road. Just my opinions of course.

I have a 75mm Trickflow plenum, and a 75mm Summit TB. I would have gotten the TF TB but they were sold out and I needed it NOW! lol I like both, good quality pieces, not regrets there-good price too. The 78mm may or may not be "too big", but I have no personal experience with it so I can't say for sure. I'd stick with the 75mm If i were you. Works fine stock and if you slap on a centri later your good to go.

Gotta agree with you dude. 78 is way to big.. I will be getting rid of my 70MM and plenum and going to a 75. I'm doing this becasue I'm going with a blower.. OP once again weigh to big. Spend the 200 bucks on something else..

BBK, is half the price of a TB/Plenum Combo and It worked fine for me on my N/A car... I did have cams though.

no complaints, gets lots of compliments on looks, and I used it (with NO problems) when my car was N/A. just playing the other side for you.

you are the reason i said i have no exp. with the 78mm so i cannot say for sure. Personally, that was my thought, 3mm???? Like it will make that vast of a difference..

If that 3mm really made any bit of good, the aftermarket would have done it A LONG time ago. Thats why I say its a gimmick because BBK sells ****ty stuff and nobody buys it lol. There is a reason 70mm is recommended for n/a and 75 for blown applications. If the engineers that tested all this stuff found that 80mm was best for a blown app, they would have made that the standard, not 75.

and smell the gimmick. lol

lol no What I am trying to say is this-

The BBK saves money by combining the two items, and the 78mm may not help/hurt the performance over a 75mm, so why not spend less money for the same/similar results? I'm certianly not saying the BBK 78mm will perform better, just that it will be adequate and justify the cost savings IMO.
