I assume you are talking about the rear lower arms? you shouldn't need a spring compressor. i just did them a week ago, there is little to no compression after letting the axle drop once the car is on the lift. i used a jack to lower the axle after i unbolted the shocks. good luck, they at fairly easy to replace. the uppers were more difficult for me.

Thanks for the input, I just wasn't too sure about the spring. I just don't want any accidents. After re-reading your post I may get a compression tool as unfortunately I do not have access to a lift
lift the car, place jack stands under rear axle, take jack and press it up against the lca, remove the bolt on lca that ties to the axle, lower jack slowly, spring will come down with the jack, remove spring, remove 2nd bolt on lca, install new lca opposite of removal. repeat =)
