Default clutch prolems

Ok so i took it to the track last night. Had a crappy night, couldnt figure out how to launch the car. In any case at some point on my last run, it stopped being able to shift. So it feels like its not disengaging the clutch all the way. When i put the car together, the clutch cable had some slop, so i was thinking that it just stretched too much and now its not pushing the clutch in far enough.

But when i got under it today, the cable now appears to be much tighter than it was, and near as i can tell its engaged enough that the throw out bearing seems to be spinning all the time. which isnt good. So now im confused...In order for me to get home i had to rev match to shift. when i come to a stop in gear car would burn the clutch and die, so to start it i had to have it in first use the starter to get the car rolling and give it gas. It was a big ordeal...

It also didnt want to downshift, like you should be able to, and getting it into lower gears, pretty much ment i had to stop the car and turn it off, to put it into gear. Needless to say, im a bit stumped as to what the problem actually is. Any ideas? when rolling in gear car is fine, no slipping, no odd noises. So i think the trannys fine.

But im just totally consfused about how i thought it was cable stretch that was keeping me from getting the clutch fully disengaged, but yet it seams that the cable is too tight... Is the pressure plate maybe screwed up? or can you have both a tight cable the wont fully disengage the clutch. Lastly there is about 3/4 of an inch after the clutch is all the way down before the throw out bearing arm would hit the bell housing. Does that sound too far?
