help me with my build!!
I think that you mean block man. lol and those heads will not bring compression down, it will infact raise it slightly. and I would go with a set of MHS or CMS cams as we have reps from both on the forum and both are willing and able to help you with your selection. Tims99GT's car should soon be done and he is running that kinda setup wtih a 2.8L KB and should be pretty sick nasty when its done.
but Thanks I will check them out and yeah I know I said a few grand but I decided to get a little more extensive into the build and do it right exactly how I want it.
I really appreciate yalls help this is my first motor rebuild and advice is more than appreciated, thanks!
just an update for everyone,
I recently purchased the aluminum shortblock. next step is getting the 9.5:1 298 stroker kit from livernois, paired with trickflow 44cc heads, and a good blower cam. so far looking at hi-tech brand cams. i am wanting to do a kenne bell s/c about 12-15 lbs. arp bolts, cometic headgaskets, trickflow timing chains and guides. anyone have any info/advice? greatly appreciated thanks

Make sure you get the Track Heat heads with the higher pressure springs, and TFS head prices are going up any day now so I would do that before the stroker kit if possible to save a few bucks. Don't go crazy on the cam size, the TFS heads prefer a smaller cam in comparison to the PI for the same operating range.
will do thanks man. Also im thinking about running an electric water pump. Yes or no? And should i just use the stock oil pump? Or maybe a cobra oil pump? What makes the cobra oil pump better? Thanks guys
Electric water pump is good for about 10RWHP and good cool downs between laps/races
I prefer the 2V oil pump with billet gears from Triangle Speed Shop, they Rockwell test and super inspect every oil pump for clearances going out. Can't say that for the rest of them.

Don't think they are a vendor here or anywhere actually. Just give them a call IMHO, they are good ol Texas boys and sell those pumps to a few builders now.
