Is there a turbo for the street cars you would like to see tested? We have a rolling lab and are always on the dyno. What turbo combos for a mild 4.6 with forged bottom end would you like to see?

Lets keep it under 600whp for the street cars.

Garrett, Turbonetics, Precision, Borg Warner....... let me know.

Thanks in advance for you posts and feed back.

btw...what turbo is used in the on3performance kit? i have zero interest in the kit, but a lot of members have been tossing around the idea. maybe you could test one of those?

um, no offense, but under 600whp there's no point in going turbo, you can do just as well and run just as fast if not faster with a blower. Not to mention it'll cost less.

Turbo's are good for 600+rwhp, but not less, unless people just want to waste their money.

Why test under 600whp? big deal, there's not much diff between power levels (aside from 100+rwhp power level differences). 520whp will drive like 540whp, there won't be that big of a difference.

the only tests I'd like anyone to show, is so that people understand, is the same car with a 61mm and a 71mm at the same power level during both runs. So lets say 550rwhp, show which one will be more efficient. 10 bucks says that the 61mm will get there faster and with more torque.

that is unless you're torturing the car, and running it to 6500RPM.

61mm vs 66mm vs 76mm at different power levels as well as ball bearing variations of all of the above. Masterpower, Turbonetics, Garrett, all the major brands you can think of. I'd even go as far as saying maybe look into some of the larger HKS and Greddy turbochargers from imports because they might be useful to see what they make as some people building their own kits might want to pursue those as well.

I think the most helpful thing would be to test different sized turbos at different psi levels.

ie. 61mm, 66m, 71mm at 8psi, 10psi, 12psi,15psi ect to show how the engine responds to the turbo's size through the power band. It would be nice to see when the power comes on and how well it holds the curve.
