Very mild hesitation
So I have a 2000 GT with around 65,000 miles on it now. It has a new long block straight from ford, rockin about 15,000 miles. I change the oil every 2,500 miles and add injector cleaner every other oil change.
For the life of the car, I have fun 87 grade SHELL gasoline in my car. It has run great up until I recently switched to 89 at Shell, still ran fine, then... I switched to wherever and whatever gas station I stumble upon, 89 octane. As I start driving, it feels like as I go up through the RPM band from 1700-2300rpms the car mildly "catches" itself and starts going, just kind of little stumbles.
Could gasoline type really be at fault here? Injectors are clean, Air filter was clean last time I checked....

for one thing, if you don't have a tune for a higher grade gasoline, you're wasting your money. for another thing, using "discount" gas stations is never a good idea. anyone with a sensitive tune will tell you how bad their car misses or detonates when running "discount" gas. my gpaws 2007 taurus with ~35k miles has already had to have a new fuel pump put in, which i blame on the "discount" gas he insists on buying because its $0.02 cheaper than the exxon across the street. third, do you have an auto or manual? i have slight hesitation when the car is cold in first gear. once it warms up a lil bit, the hesitation goes away. i'm pretty sure its just the way the car is, not in anyway a true problem. another thing, sometimes just because you got your block replaced doesn't mean everything else was replaced. i would first start with a new fuel filter. if hesitation still occurs, check/clean your air filter and throttle body (remember, if you have the stock TB, DO NOT use any regular cleaning product on it!! it is a coated TB and you will have to buy a special cleaner for it, but only if it has really bad build up or if the throttle blade has trouble opening/closing). if hesitation still occurs, you may have a bigger problem.

I THINK THIS CALLS FOR PURPLE ICE OR AT LEAST SOMETHING FROM ROYAL PURPLE!!! THAT STUFF FIXES EVERYTHING!!! lol But in all seriousness, change the fuel filter and change the plugs. Also clean the maf and get the car plugged into a code reader to see if there are any dormant codes in the ECU. Could try resetting the car by unplugging the battery for a bit to see if that helps.
