Default Just bought my first Mustang 1998 GT 4.6L. What are the steps to make it fast now?

I just purchased my first Mustang off my friends dad. 98 GT 4.6L convertible top. 140k miles, new tranny, and clutch. Has the cobra crome wheels and I just installed my raxiom smoke headlights. Next step I think I am going to paint it then maybe lower 2 or 2.5 inches because there is a lot of space between the wheel well and the tire.

After all that is done I want to make it faster. Im not really engine savy, my buddy is but he says he doesnt really know mustangs that well and told me to post here. He said drop a super charger in it. I said dont I need other things to support that like intake, exhaust, etc...

Basically I am trying to pick everyones mind here on the best way to go about making this car FAST!! Step by step.

Thanks for the info in advance.

One of the first things I would do is free up some power from that stock exhaust. If u have about $1,250 to burn. Buy a cat-back system, o/r mid pipe (X OR H, X = raspy H = Muscular), and some LT headers.

p.i. head swap from a 99-04 gt. u will gain 30-40 hp and get some miles off that top end.

like a lot of people said... sell it and buy something better... or you can do a PI swap, gears, and O/R X or H and catback and call it a day.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT waste your time with bolt ons. Too many of us have learned the hard way. Go straight for the PI headswap and never look back. That and gears would be the 2 biggest things I'd recommend if you wanna make that car halfway fast.
