Default NT05's and Fr500's Pics + first impressions

Finally found a place to mount and balance my tire/wheel combo, it only took 2 places trying to do it before the third finally got them on. To add insult to injury one of the places that tried to mount them ripped a bead on one of the rear tires and didn't tell me. After getting them to pay for a replacement, i ordered a new one and got it done a few days later. I haven't had them out to the track or anything but they are a huge improvement over my old tires and wheels. I was running 245/45/17 Comp T/A's. Now I have 315/35/17 on rear and 275/40/17 on the front. The car feels like it tears the road up behind it they are so sticky. Just figured i would throw up a few pics. I will be getting better ones soon. I will also be taking the car to Road America with this setup towards the end of August and plan to give a good review of the tires.

The pics don't really do justice, i cant get over how mean is looks. Another week or so and i will have my coil overs and i will drop it down a bit, I am really looking forward to that.

Looks good. Gotta have the meat to hook when ya have f/i

It seems like the tire/wheels would look better if you had a bigger drop......idk maybe you've been told that before

NT05's are the **** man. I have them on my car in 295 35 18's and they tear it up!!! I wanna get a new set of 17's for next summer with 315 35 18's for tracking it and just put street tires on my current wheels.

The 315's are awesome, i love dropping the pedal on the on ramp and feeling the car just roll right and throw me back in the seat!

I have all the goodies coming from Maximum Motorsports soon, so a drop is coming. I agree it will make it look 100% better.

I really enjoy the NT05's and recommend them to anyone! I would love to see what the NT01's would do on the track...

I dont wanna see what they do in the rain though...lol NT05's are awesome in the rain. Love them. Wish they made them in a 315 30 18 though. 295 just isnt wide enough for a 10.5" width wheel I think.

Tires look sick, but why did you go with a 17 in wheel? IMO 18s are perfect for a new edge

Good question, The reason i went with 17's was when i was looking for tire combination for 18's i could not find a good staggered combination. With my 17's They are the exact same height, even with the staggered wheels. I did want to go with 18's for the ability to get some 14' rotors and massive 6 piston calipers but i went with a 13' cobra upgrade instead. Because i didn't need 18's to clear the cobra brake kit i figured the 17's weigh slightly as well.

315 30's and 275 35's are the same ratio as 315 35's and 275 40's.

Well, Nitto NT05's do not offer a 315/30 or anything wider then 295. That was partially a decision maker as well. I paid less then $600.00 for these wheels so i can always get a set of 18's if they decide to make a matching NT05 combo. $600.00 isn't a bank breaker, now if i invested in the BBS 3 piece wheels i wanted at $1700 EACH i would have been more concerned. I was basically buying a wheel for these tires as a 315 NT05's was what i wanted and 17's were my only option.
