Well, I actually DON'T have a c clamp. I asked my dad if he maybe had one around the house and he was like "hewre you go!" I was like dad.......this is a pipecutter........ *facepalm*

But I basically resorted to doing this... I took out the rattle clip (the one that is in the middle of the caliper itself) and...

Let me guess.... that's not the healthiest thing for the car is it?

He may be on to something, the pads will only go on one way and on a certain side.

Yes I realized that once I couldn't even pound the caliper onto the rotor assembly lol. I just decompressed the piston so that the area that was stripped was closed to the mopunting bracket, so that "catching" the threads wouldn't be necessary. f*ck that soft metal crap inside that threading!! lol

Thanks to all that helped, you guys are always life savers

They have tools specificaly for compressing a caliper pistion, you can get one from most auto parts stores for like 10 bucks. I attached a pic, but a c clamp work well too for the fronts at least. the rears need to by screwed back in with a needle nose pliers or they have a tool for that too.

Very nice! I didn't know there was such a tool... I'm going to go pick one up this week sometime.

Hey, do you guys know anything about those MGP caliper covers? While I was doing my brakes I noticed a crap ton of brake dust gets all over my wheels. If I am ever going to get Saleen rims... I can't deal with all this brake dust possibly scratching the chrome. Do these covers actually repel brake dust fully? Are they worth the 200 bucks??

EE - I'm running Saleens and do not deal with a ton of brake dust. Don't worry about those g*y covers...
