Answer a noob question for me..why are some pro-stock cars I see setup with a narrower than stock rear end? Is it strictly so they can tub high enough to fit the slicks without raising the rear of the car or what? Or does it have something to do with tracking? I have seen pulling trucks do this, but they are 4wd and it is simply for traction so that the two sets of drive tires are in different track lines.

Its just because the tires are so tall and wide that they would not fit in the actual wheel well so they move them into the wheel well and tub the f*ck out of it to fit the tire. Make sense?

Yep. My 85 ran 32" tall tires and the only way to fit that big of a tire is to narrow the rear end and tub the interior. I also ran the exact tire in the pic. It's a 33" x 10.5W. The 10.5 is kinda funny because it measures closer 15" wide, so that's why there is the "W"...it stands for WIDE...LOL

BUT OMG, they look SO SICK going down the street...lol. Here's the 85
