Default Steeda Tri Ax or MGW short shifter?

Ok here's the deal, I have heard the MGW shifters are the best. I currently have a Steeda Tri Ax in my 2000 GT, and I still miss 3rd 9 times out of 10. Should I upgrade to the MGW? Money aside as that's not my main concern here. To be honest I saw a fatal car accident this morning, and am worried I may get into a situation where I have to hit 3rd fast, and don't want to hit a brick wall at the wrong time.

Also if I buy one new from MGW do I have to lower my trans a bit to get it installed or is that a myth?

TIA

At the risk of sounding like, well you know, I would practice shifting. The Tri-Ax rocks!

I have a triax and it feels like stock. And yes it is a triax cus I put it in myself. Its tall as hell in fifth gear and isnt the shortest throw ever by far. Felt an MGW and a Pro 5.0 and they are both much more precise and have much shorter throws.
