badass cams...
#23
My votes went to MHS and CMS stage 2's. If you dont want to change valve springs and such, get the MHS cams. If youre ok with getting your pistons notched and/or having new valves put in, go with the CMS.

Actually, if you are willing to notch the pistons i'd strongly consider MHS stage 3's. They are very aggressive (more so than any of the above mentioned) and would work great with stock heads too.
If you don't want to notch the piston or machine the intake valve, and don't want to change the springs, i'd do CMS stage 1's or MHS stage 2's. They will fit safely at the advertised specs.

no problem with new valve springs...not too comfortable with notching pistons, although if it would be well worth it than so be it, like if i can get significant more power with cams requiring notched pistons, prolly would rather not though. as far as power goes, if i cam id love to eventually replace the heads as well and just keep it NA...i just feel like everyone tosses a blower on these cars or sprays em, not too many people stay NA, i think id be happy if i could run 12s on the regular, and if i really wanted to go faster than that i guess i would move toward spray before a blower, since with a blower id need to remove my NA cams anyway
wat are the benefits of degreeing the cams? dont know very much about that, i suppose thats a factor in install price?
and would you all reccommend having your stock heads worked by a head shop, or replacing the heads with one of the aftermarket brands..i have a head shop right in my town that is very reasonably priced on their work

If Ford would have notched the factory pistons, we would have seen a lot more really fast NA 2V cars.
The top 2 of the list fit safely without any mods to the heads
The next 2 leave about a hairs thickness between the valve and piston on a good install
The bottom one I don't know of any that run fast NA, IMHO its a good cam for a stock Lightning.
I believe that I can say that I am the only person on this planet that has owned each of the cams listed here at one time or another

I live close to hitech and after talking to them about cams they belive theirs produce the best power but also the least amount of lope. I haven't seen many comparisons, but if your looking for the lope hitech probably aren't the best.
