Default racing seats...

there is no way everybody goes out and buys corbeau or recarro or another big name racing seat, some people just cant afford to drop 800 bucks on a pair of seats...so are there any decent cheap ones that anyone bought? like anything from ebay or anything like that? i know you get what you pay for, but for some a decent cheap seat may be just plenty, lets face it, prolly would keep you from sliding better than the factory seats lol

Summit Racing has a whole line of decent seats that look really nice and aren't hard on the wallet. You can also go to Kragen, they have some sport seats too that look very similar to the summit black ones.

not to hijack, but does anyone actually have these and if so are they comfortable? I would be interested in purchasing these.

They cannot be any worse than stock LOL. I have heard a few guys on other forums say they are more comfortable than stock and the side bolsters work very well too. They won't be as light or comfortable as recaros, but then again, they are a fraction of the cost.

Another inexpensive option for better than stock seats is a set of used import seats. Even civics have been ahead of the game when it comes to a comfortable and supportive seat compared to these cars

Well, I payed over twice that for my Recaro's and have no regrets. I realize that this is a lot of money, but what is your comfort worth? There is no way to know if any of these other seats will be as comfortable without trying them all, but is not practical to do so. I also have no discernable wear on them after 35K miles. The factory seats are downright dangerous, IMO and have NO business being in even the most moddest of performance cars.

I suggest you go out and try some of these seats you may propose to buy so that you don't find out they suck for long roadies. I can drive for hours and hours in my seats and remain comfortable. I cannot imagine how bad it would be to travel in seats that are not formed well over a long trip.

Jazzer.... sittin' pretty

I just installed a set of Corbeau seats in my car and they are worth every single penny I paid! The stock seats are horrible, 799.99 for a Corbeau pair, and another 200.00 for brackets. It really isn't that bad, most people dump more then that in cosmetics. At least with seats you actually gain something, you get the good looks, the comfort, safety and lastly performance. You can easily shed some time off your autocross/open track times when your not worrying about sliding into the door or shift lever when navigating the twistys.
