Default about to buy wheels... need ur input

Ok so I have been looking for a new wheel/tire combo for a while. Ultimately, I REALLY just want good traction, but the looks of a new rim (plus the extra 2" in the rear) looks real good IMO.

I am going to be buying a set of 2003 Cobra Style Rims, 17x9 and 17x10.5 (with nitto 315's in the back, and nitto 255s in the front)

~$1300.

Can somebody help justify this purchase for me? I am DUE for tires with/without the wheels so this is a perfect time for a upgrade IMO.

What do you think I can sell my current rims for?

Would love your input

Matt - In my opinion, you NEEED this! With all of these sick power mods that you've done, as of right now, I don't think you are really being able to run it at its full potential...based on what you've been saying...and thats an understatement.

YOU NEED STICKY TIRES!!!!!!!! I think with your great reputation on here and on moddedmustangs, I think you can DEF. sell those rims in a heartbeat with the current tires for probably 450-500 bucks.

In other words, why put the 10k you've put into it so far to waste? If you can't put the power down it doesnt mean sh*t! Do it and you'll have that sh*t eating grin on your face again. Aside from the tires, those wheels are going to be just what you need to set that baby off and make it look perfect. /my .02

I'm not gonna comment on the wheel choice as that is purely subjective, but I am a fan. Now for tires, you need better than just regular nittos. At minimum, get NT05's. You're gonna need the extra stickiness with your power. Also look at the nitto drag radials. You would be upset with the choice of regular nittos my friend. Go stickier if you're gonna go nitto. If you're willing to look at other brands I can make a few more suggestions as well but I love my nittos and I am a nitto nut swinger so I'll push them all day long.

the nittos are "Nitto 315/35-17 DR". That is what the site says. I can also select an option for ones that do not have the "DR" in the tire name. Do you think those are the NT05s u speak of?
