Default Safe to run a 5w30 oil?

Anyone running a 5w30 in these 4.6's? Can the oil pump and galleys handle it, or is it to thick?

Shuoldn't hurt anything. 5w-30 is thicker than 5w-20 when the engine is warmer. I've used it before, no issues.

I use 10w30 in the summer and i'm considering using it permanently. The heavier the oil the better protection. The gains you get from using that light 5W20 are trivial and hard to prove. Cliffy will chime in.

Ok works for me, I just wanted to be sure the engine was capible of handling the thicker oil, done deal. I'm running the thicker stuff, 20 weight is just to thin for me to sleep at night.

I've been running 10W-40 (changed every 2500 to 3000 miles) for 3-1/2 years and 75k miles...
