Default 98 GT simple upgrades

Hi,

I am new to ford and was wondering if there are any quick and easy upgrades to help the 98 4.6 gain more hp.

1. Is a tuner worth it?
2. CAI ?
3. Exhaust?
4. Chip?

I'm not sure about cost, but assuming it's a GT with a 2v SOHC engine, the PI upgrade does a lot. PI is the Power Improvement package the 1999-2004 GTs got, putting them at 260 hp @ 5250rpm and 302 lb ft of torque @ 4000rpm. HUGE difference!

I would say to concentrate on suspension and rubber first, but most people don't like doing this.

OP - What are your power goals for the car? Also, what is the budget you are allocating towards it performance wise?

No matter what your goals, budget etc., etc., everything will be useless until you do a PI swap..

Again without Heads there is no reason to do the rest. You can change the gear ratio, and it will at least feel faster lol

Heads/cams/intake
All are the contributing factor to the low power
You have what is know as the NPI (non performance improved) 4.6 top end setup
