Default questions about my timeslips (past and present)

i found some old timeslips from may and april this past spring. i was trapping at 100 and 101 mph, with around the same times (not as many 13 sec runs though) and there is a significant difference in them.

for one, my 330 ft and 1/8th times are way better nowadays. one of my best slips this fall is this: RT 0.000 60FT 2.025 330FT 5.735 660FT 8.856 @ 79.42 1/4 13.763 @99.95

here is one of my best slips for last spring. RT .041 60FT 2.1 330FT 5.9 660FT 9.036 @ 79.90 1/4 13.921 @ 100.8

am i leaving, lets say if this was the same exact run with the same mph as the 13.9, but with the 330 and 660 of the one most recent. could my car be a 13.5 car?

here is one that is really making me wonder: RT .269 60FT 2.186 330FT 6.035 660FT 9.169 @ 79.25 1/4 14.082 @99.95 (LAST SPRING)

--so, basically with the same mph as my 13.7, i had a 14.0 with a WAY worse 330 and way worse 1/8th. if i had my good 1/8th and 330 time in this run, with a little bit better RT and .1 better 60ft, could i be a 13.3 or 13.4 car???

POTENTIAL PROBLEM: i'm thinking my clutch cable is what is holding me back at the end of the run. when throwing it in 4th i hear a weird squeal noise, like something stretching and not allowing me to gain speed for probably a full second to second and a half it seems like. it just hovers at the RPM and MPH for a seocnd and i can kind of feel it jolt out of it afterwards. does this sound like the clutch cable stretching?? could this be holding my times back??? what is up with my times?

Differences in the weather could be to blame as well.

reaction time has no effect on your 1/4 mile time.

+1... RT is just for fun, the timer doesn't start till you get off the line.

the best thing to get your E/T down is to get the 60' sub 2.0

Not saying that you don't have more left in the car, but it could just be your driving getting better. Your numbers early look far better for the fall slips than the spring, which leads me to believe that you're probably controlling your tire spin better. When you get tire spin, you're increasing your wheel speed and it usually ends up increasing your trap speed a little. When you control that spin and get better numbers early, your ET is going to go down while your mph may stay close to the same. You're getting the car down the track more efficiently.

could my car be a 13.5 car?

could i be a 13.3 or 13.4 car???

I decided to condense your post.....

13.76 with a 2.02 60' is very impressive *assuming your near stock*

For what it's worth, my car is a 5sp with 4.10's, o/r H, catback and on DR's I went 13.636@100.8 on a 1.85 60'...

Based on your first ET that I have listed here, I'd say your car is very possibly a 13.4-13.5 car with a 1.8X 60'...

this makes me happy.

I ran a 13.797 @102 with a 2.09 60'.

On another note, this dumbass in an 03 cobra told me there is no way i could shave .6 off with a DR and going from 3.27s to 4.10s....

with flowmaster mufflers

Eh, I suppose that if you drove your car to an absolute MAX before the mods, then MAYBE you'd have a difficult time shaving that much time off the ET.

BUT, usually you get mods to a car before you drive to your absolute best potential.

I went 14.5@99 with 4.10's and a midpipe/catback....

my best as I said is a 13.6 with same mods + DR's...

I know that Drag Radials didnt cut 9/10's of a second off, it was tires + Driver mod

I don't know, I managed to cut 8 tenths with gears, suspension, and M/T's. I'm sure a bit was driver, but going from 2.0 60's to 1.7's and having a better gear down the track did most of the work.
