Default Wow my wheels are heavy

Thought I would make a little post because I was shocked on how heavy aftermarket wheels can be.
My DD wheels are American Racing 200s. Rears with tires weigh 51lbs a piece and fronts weigh 44 a piece that comes out to 190lbs in wheels and tires

I've been getting a lot of pm's about the wheels in my sig and they are just 17in 94/95 GT OEM wheels (or 93 Cobra R) that I powder coated black and put a red strip on. These wheels with tires weigh in at 40lbs a piece so that comes out to 160lbs. That means I loose 30lbs just by slapping these rims on
here are some pic's and yes I hate them also

there was quite a difference when going from my stock starfish to 18x9 and 18x10 saleen wheels. so much so that I actually noticed the lag on acceleration (not hard but normal driving) After driving with them for a while I didn't notice it anymore.

Is it because of the IRS swap that your tailpipes/tips tilt downward? I personally like the 94/95 wheels. I think they fit the car.

Ya it's because the catback is made for a 99/04 cobra that has exhaust cut out's in the rear bumper. Yes it bothers the hell out of me. Trying to figure a solution out just not high on the priority list

I cant because without the tips the exhaust will hit the back of the bumper and fumes will go into the trunck and than into the cabin

FWIW--I have the stock 17x8 Bullitt wheels, they weigh 22lbs. The 275/40-17 Falken RT-615s on the back are 28lbs, the 245/45-17s on the front are 26lbs.

So, total weights are 50 in the rear, and 48 up front.

That's about what these things weigh, you might find wheels as light as 18lbs (maybe a bit less--bring your wallet), however the tire weights are pretty much the same from one manufacturer to the next...
