You can try experimenting with tire pressure, but I would suggest not adding too many variables at once. I would try to get a launch technique down before I tried a lot of adjustments to the vehicle. I have read and heard from racers that you should not drop tire pressures on street tires (not talking DRs here) below normal street pressure. The tires are not designed to work at low pressure and you will actually reduce your traction by running at low pressure. For our Mustangs, I personally would not drop the pressure below 28psi. As I said above, DRs and slicks are a different story.
