Default spec stage 2 clutch, problem

well i installed a new spec stage 2 clutch on my mustang gt about a month ago. its my dd car. the problem is that EVERY single time i get out of first gear, its damn near impossible balancing the clutch without my car shaking really badly its quite embarassing when i have a girl in the car lol. i thought breaking it in would do the trick but i guess not. does anyone know what the problem is? or is that how spec stage 2 clutches are. thanks

I unfortunately also had a Spec Stage 2 clutch and let me tell you
it was the worst clutch I ever had.I installed a brand new flywheel
and I had a horrible chattering problem and my mustang would shake
some in 1st gear and reverse.I also did the break in and was easy
on my clutch. In 5K miles my Spec clutch disc failed and I tryed to
warranty it through Spec and I ended up getting screwed by Spec.
Everything was also installed correctly and Spec screwed me and
wouldn't warranty my clutch.Don't even try to warranty your Spec
clutch because they will always say it is your fault and leave you screwed.
The customer service at Spec is absolutely horrible and they are the
worst people I ever dealt with.I'm not the only person how had
problems with Spec clutches. My friend had problems with his Spec Stage 3
clutch in his Fox body.
I ended up getting a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and I couldn't be
any happier I love my Centerforce clutch.I highly recommend you
ditch your Spec stage 2 clutch and get a Centerforce clutch!

Spec clutches are vastly overrated, with failure of the dampening springs--either breaking and/ or chewing into the hub flanges--being very common. Every time I say this those that have not had problems will protest, however there are just too many reported failures for me to ever consider buying one.

Google "spec clutch failure" and you see a bunch of photos like these:

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Spec customer support, read some of the threads you'll find when Googling and you'll find that Bladerunner is not alone...

by shaking do you mean keeping it from stalling? Mine does this in cold starts i just rev the engine a little higher and it goes. also if your quick you can get it to grab right away. I have had luck with mine hopefully mine doesn't hit the fan.

I completely agree with you Cliffy all Spec clutches do have a high failure
rate and buy at your own risk too.
Me and my friend with the fox body both had failed Spec clutch discs.
I'm also finding more and more people that have had their Spec clutch
discs fail on them.Failed dampening springs is a notorious problem with
all Spec clutches. The worst is the customer service at Spec is simply
horrible and they act like they could careless about their customers.
I'm sure glad I have a Centerforce Dual Friction now thank God!
