Hello,

The next mod I play on putting into my car is Cams. Just had a quick few questions about Comp Cams Stage II Xtreme Energy XE270AH Camshafts. Does anybody know anything about these or use them. Are the quality cams? Should I look into different cams? Also if they are worth it what else should be replaced upon install or what is needed? There are certainly better cams out there in a stage 2 spec. I would go with CMS stage 2 grind over Comp any day.

you can either run CMS, or Comp stage 2 cams with aftermarket valve springs, or run MHS stage 2 cams as is but sacrifice a few HP in exchange for motor PTV clearance.

Is there any reason besides preferance why you would suggest CMS over CCS? Also with both of these Cams they require vavles and a tune correct?

The performance is better with CMS, youll get right at 40RWHP with them. And yes you will need a tune and springs. Its debatable on wether or not you need valves or piston notching. Depends on how comfortable you are with the clearances.

You will see what im getting at when a few more people post in this thread. It will turn into quite the discussion im sure.
