Hi and Welcome Rob.
I belive the 2002-2004 Ford Mustang GT's to be the best years of the
1999-2004 Ford Mustang GT's because Ford had some time to work out
alot of the bugs in this vehicle.Really you can't go wrong with the 4.6L
engine though because they are very reliable and dependable engines.
In my experience I owned both the 4.6L and 5.0L Ford Mustangs and
the 4.6L was the most reliable and dependable engine I ever owned.
The only things I have had to do to my 1996 Ford Mustang GT was
do standard maintenance like change my motor oil, change air filters,
change tires etc.
Here are some sites for you to check out to help you in your hunt
for the Ford Mustang you want.Good luck!

Hi, you chose a good place to ask, this place is full of information. Even if you just read things and not post like I usually do. Anyways about that car, I wouldn't be afraid of those miles at all. When I sold my 01 (same thing as the 02), it had about 93k on it an ran great. As far as I know, its still running strong with quite a few more miles on it now.

^+1 I havent had any issues other than of my own cause of abuse. The car is pretty reliable, hell people talk alot of trash about fords but I have had a 97 escort for years it now has 135k and they only thing I had to replace has been plugs, wires, tires, and tie rods lol. I paid 1500 for the car

An 02 GT has the 4.6 engine, which is VERY reliable. These engines can take a lot of power, and they last for quite a while. 92K is nothing ....but I'd still get the engine checked out by a mechanic just to be safe to see if the car is a good deal. While 92K is generally not an issue, however, it depends HOW those 92K miles were driven and how it was taken care of.

But yeah, for the most part, you should be fine.
