Well a 96gt with stock heads on it is super slow. the 99-04 gt's are much much better cars then the 96-98gt. Some people are getting better numbers out of F/I with the 2v then they are with the 4v. Its just in what you want to do and what you want to spend to get there.
Not to be a typical 4v ******* but not with the same mods/port jobs they aren't.

OP, I'll sell you my car for 10.5 Built engine, everything you need to run faster than 12's.
Why wouldnt you just rebuild the turbo... It doesnt make sense why you would want to sell a faster car for a slower car... just to have to build it back up again. Why not just rebuild your turbo and call it a day.

A fully bolt-on 99-04 2v with gears and suspension and a 5 speed can get into the 12's easily, right?
yes, very easily. The biggest issue is driver mod and track prep. A full exhaust car with 4.10s, and a good tire and suspension will hit high 12s all day long.
i work pushing carts i can hardly afford the cobalt, and the warranty is almost over and i just got the car back. it was gone 2 months for the trans now just get it back and now this, just problem after problem my mustang had no problems. just want something with no loan and cheaper on insurance. dont get me wrong if i could keep the balt i would i could beat a 04 cobra that was stock from a 60 roll all day but just the balt breaks alot and i hardly beat on it. just want to go back to the amazing rwd and the amazing mustang exhaust tone.
