Default Port/Polish job

Hey MF'ers just wanted to get an idea of how much it should cost me to have my stock heads ported and polished and a 5 angle valve job done to them. I think that for my purposes that the stock pi heads should be good enough to hit the hp I want but I want to get them to flow slightly better. Also if any Southern Georgians/Northern Floridians know of a good machine shop that can do it for me I would appreciate the knowledge!

i remember watching the youtube video of your sig. i dont think it went as long because it looks like the QB is getting laid out by one of his teammates RIGHT at the end of this video (little celebration chest bump that went a little too hard)

I'd just send your heads in as cores and get new heads.

Where should I do that at? And why not get the 5 angle valve job? I did it to my 383 stroker back when I was a chevy and pushrod man and it worked great. So where is your logic? (Not trying to be a jacka** Teej I am just wanting to know your thought process and see if you know something that I don't.)

@Mutilation I did notice that the chest bump at the end was pretty hard but it still was the best play of all time. Why can't they try that in Pro/College ball? lol.

Most places that offer ported heads offer the chance to send your stock heads in for cores and give you a break on the heads you buy.

http://modularheadshop.com/heads/piheads.htm

Nick gives you a $100 credit for sending in your used heads as cores. All his ports feature a 5 angle valve job. I wasnt saying dont get the valve job by any means. The valve job is one of the most important things in a head port really.

Does that clear that up? Sorry I wasnt clear in my first reply man.

go to youtube and check out 'wrong ball football play' its very similar to that except he walks almost to the sideline to swap the ball with the coach then takes off.

the reason that pro/college teams dont do this, is they know better. stuff like that only works in little league.

1) college/pro linemen have their eyes glued to the ball, the minute the center moves the ball even a little bit, they are hitting the person infront of them. if it wasnt to start a play, its considered false start on the center anyways.
2) pro/college teams know when the center hands the QB the ball, the play is in session. there are a lot of trick plays that do happen in professional sports, but this is never going to be one of them.

a college/pro football team trying to do that play would wind up with the quarterback getting dogpiled under 3 linebackers and a couple linemen as soon as he stepped past the line of scrimmage, and possibly a stripped ball since he doesnt even tuck it until he starts running to keep the 'wtf' factor going on.

@ Teej that makes more sense and I'm only 3 hours away from there so I can just drive there to do it instead of ship.
@Mutilation I watched that video, it was grand lol. I like that trick play. But I still think that it would be funny to see a college team or pro team try to pull a trick play like that. Even if they don't make it it would still be worth the 2nd down and a laugh lol.

I would drive them down and then have them shipped back as its like $10 shipping anywhere in the US. So that would probably be your better bet i'd say. I'd look at going with the stage 3 heads. they reach over 100% load n/a between 4500-5500rpm, which is pretty awesome.
