And if we are going to talk about Wall Street and earnings here....

After adjusted EBIT, their earnings were down over 600 million in Q4 compared to Q4 2010.

GM is in no way performing as they should be expected to....

Here is what is alarming. After the ENORMOUS bailout they received....

As of 12/31/2011 GM had 15.5 billion in cash on hand
As of 12/31/2010 GM had 21.1 billion in cash on hand

Debt increased by nearly 800 million over that year, and their capital expenditures increased by 2 billion in that year span (2010-2011). So basically, they are performing exactliy as Obama - Spending more, earning less, and delaying payments for years to offset the balance sheet.

F Obama, F Chevy and F Obama yet once again. I'm all about spending money to make money, but it needs to be with a profitable light at the end of the tunnel.
It is very easy to come out with a report stating "OHHHH GM IS PROFITABLE LOOK HOW THE BAILOUT WORKED!!! OMGGGGG" < - yeah, B.S, blow me.

The government should have left GM alone and let them figure out how to get themselves out of their own mess. They'd be better off now without the governments help (not making the Chevy Volt... the only way to sell it is for the government to offer massive tax breaks to people buy them, like you really think people who are going to buy a +$40k new car want that piece of junk?)

I love E92 335's. That'd be my first choice if I was in the situation to go that route.

Go Braves!

Edit: "In China, GM’s Buick Excelle is the most popular car on the market and one GM car or truck is sold in the country every 12 seconds." No one domestically wants to buy a Chevy. They're sales are coming from over seas. Not to mention GM assembles like no cars in the U.S.

"GM vehicles assembled in Canada include Chevrolet's Camaro, Equinox and Impala and the GMC Terrain, while vehicles built in Mexico include Cadillac's SRX and Escalade EXT, Chevrolet's Aveo, HHR, Silverado, and GMC's Sierra. GM vehicles built in the U.S. include Buick's LaCrosse, Lucerne and Enclave, Cadillac's CTS, DTS and STS-V, Chevrolet's Cruze, Corvette, Malibu and Tahoe, and GMC's Yukon." -http://autos.aol.com/article/is-your-car-really-american/

I thought the Corvette was assembled in Canada?

I realize Ford has a lot of assembly plants internationally too... but jez

I realize Ford has a lot of assembly plants internationally, but I can't think of a car GM assembles domestically... other than the VOLTTTT

As much as I would love to agree with this, I can't I think the government did the right call by bailing them out. It's not like gm is a small company where they would be allowed to die. If they had to completely die, where would've all the workers gone? Just a big influx of more unemployed. And to make it clear I did not vote for Obama here in Ca and I won't for the next coming election. That guy hasn't brought a damn bit of hope or change to our beautiful country. Btw while we are at it, Go Oakland!

Gm would have been better off with out the bailout look at Ford they would not go out of business with out the bailout. As of this month both bailouts cost us tax payers 24 billion dollars and looking like it will cost more before gm is truly back on there feet. With gm showing a profit it is really easy to.do that when you have the government paying all the bills

I don't think GM would have failed. I think they would have figured stuff out on their own.

Exactly. Fords CEO was taking a salary of $1 until Ford got their **** straight. If GM would have found new upper management, they would have been fine. They wouldn't have been able to save Pontiac and Sabb, but they could have saved GM.
