Default Where to get a new motor? (4.6L 2v)

Just lilke the title says. Have a rod knocking and need a new motor dont know what to do. i can get a new 4.6L for $3600 shipped (all accessories except a/c compressor).

where to look and what to do.

for 3600 i would buy a built shortblock and have a shop throw the heads and cams off your motor onto that. no effing way should you spend 3600$ on a stock longblock.

if you want a cheaper avenue, just buy a used motor. theres a ton of 4.6's laying around for a few hundred bucks at junkyards and craigslist and such.

might even be able to get a used longblock for that with some decent heads/cams if ya really look around

well if i could get a built block for less than $3600 then i would get it. but i dont know if the heads will still be good.

i got my motor for 900 with 40k miles on it at a local junkyard.

hell even if you buy an MMR block you can buy a set of used heads and cams from a PI gt for a few hundred bucks... total cost doing it that way is still less than 3600.
