Default PCV delete

So I am looking to clean up the engine bay a little bit and thinking of this weekend maybe doing the breather on the valve covers. My understanding (correct me if wrong) is you will be removing the pcv valve and the hose from the driver side valve cover as well. Am I right in my understanding of this? Also once both of these are removed how does the breather filter install? If I remember correctly from last time I had it all apart, both valve covers will have open holes. Yet the filters I have seen are the type that slip over a plastic or metal nipple and then a hose clamp to hold it on. How would you be able to use this type of filter with an open hole like that? Please help clear up this issue I considered a catch can but the engine bay is cluttered up enough as is and I don't want to be adding to it. Thanks guys!

I'd do other things to clean it up and use a catch can if this is the route you want to take.

Just my .02! Good luck with whatever you end up doing!

I only have my drivers side vented right now, and the valve cover had a plastic nipple for the little filter to go over

No pictures handy, I don't even remember what the stock setup looks like. I just removed the hose that ran from the drivers side valve cover to the intake tube and put a little filter on it that you can get at autozone or any auto parts store.

You can plug the hole in your intake and then put a small filter on your drivers side valve cover. For your passenger side you can just plug the hole. Because it is an OHC design the pressure is shared through the timing cover so there is no need to vent both valve covers. If it was an OHV design you would need to vent both valve covers.

I had no idea about that. very interesting. I am just worried I will do something to hurt longevity of the motor by sludge or other things.

In theory I can't see any issues like like by removing the PCV, when you think about it the crank case fumes and nasties drawn through the PCV are entered back into the intake. With the piping removed and a breather installed those fumes are going to the atmosphere instead of back into the motor, not to mention this elimates PCV oil draw 100%, I have the steeda oil spereator spliced into mine and I can tell you it catches quite alot of oil but its not 100% effective. I really have no 100% facts on deleting the PCV system so I am hoping others can chime in here to the pros and cons of the PCV delete.

seems to make sense so just putting on the smallest breather filter from autozone such as the spectre ones would work?
