You can put any breather you want on the valve cover as long as its a goodfit and noil oil leakage.

How would you put one inplace of the pcv valve since it's just a hole in the valve cover

Fabricate one with a tube the same diameter of the pcv valve and just stick it in I would imagine.

I heard it was a bad idea to use PCV breather caps unless you are FI?

And speaking of PCV valves, where the heck can I get a replacement? I think my drivers-side one is clogged and leaking. I've checked 2 different dealerships and none of the knew what they were talking about...finally one quoted me like $55 for the right valve. Supposedly we are supposed to ask for the "heated" ones...

Just walk in autozone there on the shelf, like 3 bucks, if the ford dealer doesn't know what a pcv valve is they are some serious retards working there.

So I read before and again just now that appearently the thing on the drivers side valve-cover with a long plastic tube going to the intake tube isn't a PCV valve...so does anyone know what it is? Cause mine is covered in oil and looks clogged up

Its a PCV valve. Although, I believe the drivers side one is built into the valve cover.

I'd leave it alone
PCV setup is your friend! Excessive blow thru is telling you something is wrong but a little is fine. Just run a catch can

i know this is a older thread, but the drivers side valve cover has a hose that goes to the air intake , that hose takes in fresh air to circulate through the crank case. pcv is on the pass side only.
