Default Few catback questions.

Alright so I'm geared and 91 octane tuned, and am getting ready to do exhaust. I'm looking at the SSS catbacks but I see I can also buy just the mufflers and put those in place of the stock ones. But my question is, Is it worth it for the entire catback system and offroad H pipe, or will replacing the stock mufflers with the SSS ones and swapping to the o/r H be sufficient? and would I notice any performance differences between these two options?

when it comes down to cost it wouldnt be much more to just buy the whole catback. plus the stainless steel will last longer

Being in arizona, im not at all worried about rust. and I can get the mufflers for $108 plus shipping. versus $389 plus shipping for the cat back. I can do the install myself, and being 17, that $200 difference is quite a bit. If there is a noticeable power increase for the cat back versus the stock piping with replaced mufflers I dont mind spending the money, but if its minimal, I can easily live with the mufflers into the stock pipe. If that makes sense.

There will be a minimal power increase. You should be able to feel it with a O/R h and the catback but keep in mind that i've heard of the o/r h to kill low end torque.

O/R h will not kill your low end tourque lol. But id just buy the mufflers if you're worried about money. That's what i did and i love my exhaust.

mustang man what mid pipe are you? and I think I'll go with the mufflers, the stock piping cant be horrible compared to aftermarket, just like you guys have stated. I just figured if I can save a bit, why not? ya know..?

IMO, i'd spend the extra money on the cat back. It looks much better, and it will sound slightly different than mufflers alone. Theoretically, you may net a couple hp more by opting for the complete cat back, but nothing you'll notice.

the major difference will be the sound. a ss exhaust has a different tone than a aluminized steel. the full catback will net a few more ponies but not so much to notice. if im not mistakin, the factory pipes are 2 1/4 while a after market will be 2 1/2 most times.
