Went to the track! help me out please :)
So I finally took the car to the track My mods are a vortech v1 that makes 7.5-8 pounds of boost at sea level but only about 5 pounds even at this high elevation (4700 feet) CMS stage 1 na cams with stock springs. 75mm TB and plenum meth injection and flows. Tires and suspension are 555r's 305/35/18's with all stock suspension minus steeda sport springs. At the high eleveation with 27mph winds and 30% humidity and temps about 50-55 degrees I think my best was 14.032 at 104.91 mph. I can tell the elevation had a huge efect because last time at the track with horrible traction on stock tires I was around 110-112 mph on a bad tune with an afr of like 10.2 lol. Now the car is completely dyno tuned (was done at Dallas at pretty much sea level I guess) and numbers are in sig.
Now my question...After like 3 passes I mastered doing my burnout and getting the tires nice and sticky. Out of about 20 passes (wasn't a busy day) I missed 2nd once and was very consistent with my times minus taking passengers along on 6 runs but didn't effect me much. My problem was when the tires were nice and hot I would bog horrible on launch because of how well the tires gripped. This was at tire pressures between 20-22 psi. I didn't go any lower as it seemed it wasn't a good move if I was already bogging. I have a 2 step programmed in my tune at like 3k rpm. So I couldn't launch any harder than that and was forced to deal with the bogging! What should I do? Should I try and get someone to change the 2step in my sniper tune to a higher rpm? What rpm would be good? Or should I leave it alone and move to 3.73 gears?
I honestly think the gears will help a ton. The car really lacks low end power using these cams with stock gears. Any advice would be great.

Shorter gears will absolutely help your runs. 3.73's are probably a good choice since you are SC.
You can go on-line to one of the DA Calculator sites and pull up your track for today's date and get a real good calculation of your times adjusted for the altitude. That will probably tell you a lot about your runs today. 14.0 sounds a bit slow fro a car making that much power, even at altitude. A SC car will be effected less by altitude than a N/A car.
Go to www.dragtimes.com
What were your 60' times, 1/8 ETs & Traps? Those may tell a lot about the runs as well.
55 degrees makes pretty good power so that should have been a help today.
More info about the runs would be helpful.

Just a quick look indicated to me that the times would adjust to around 13.6-13.7 @ 107mph. I just assumed that the weather and altitude would equate to around 4100 feet, but you can get a more accurate calculation if you go to the site and select the track you went to today.

I'll get more in depth later after I find a calculator and stuff. Very good responses so far. Once the car ot out of the hole it ran nice and strong. Well as strong as it could at 4700 feet above sea level with 27 mph winds. The wind was horrrrrible. My 60 foot was a 2.3. The bogging is for sure killing my 60 foot. Guess I will remove the two step all together and throw some 3.73's in there. Now I gotta find the page where I select my track to get my times

with 4.10s I was going over the line @ ~6k rpms (with 1/4 times between 12.9-13.1 seconds). That was with a 2.3 60'. You need gears to get you into your power band. because those cams want RPMS, and that auto tranny doesnt really help you any.
My buddy (v2 s-trim) at about 400 wrhp couldn't beat 13.0. He has 4.10's and full suspension. It is also through an automatic. (decent 60' times). That automatic NEEDS gears bad haha
