Default Dyno Tune Estimated Costs

I just got my BBK o/r x-pipe put on and plan on now getting it dynoed and custom tuned. Can anyone tell me some estimated costs? Either by the hour or what y'alls final cost was. I'm am expecting around 100 per hour.

Also, how long does getting it dynoed usually take?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Well to have it professionally dyno tuned on the dyno i paid like $450 IIRC. That includes a custom burned chip as well.

The places I've looked at say they use the handheld tuners like the XCal3 and Predator. I bet they made you forfeit your tuner since you have so much done and had to tune for Nitrous.

Alot of places make a custom tune for your mods and use handhelds to load those custom tunes. Either way custom is always more expensive but it's also the most beneficial then a generic tune. Ive seen cars on a dyne tune last up to 8-10 hrs trying to fine tune everything. On simpler nodded cars you maybe looking at 2-4 hrs and about $400 and up for a custom tune

The local shop around here charges a 400 flat rate to tune, but they have been known to cut deals if it doesn't take much time/work to produce the desired results.

Well this sucks..I wasn't expecting it to be that expensive. Looks like I will be saving up a lot longer.

I've seen alot of places that charge $300-500. But not all. When I lived in Florida I drove 2 hours north to Tampa and had Ramseys Performance tune it. They charged $100 an hour. Since I had a draw thru that pegged out to quick they spent 5 hours trying to get it right. In the end since they had to do such a conservative tune they only charged me $250. Here in Oregon one place want $150 to do a pre run to make sure every thing on your car is good first. Then $150 an hour after that. I found a place 3 hours north in Washinton, HP Ranch that charges $150 an hour. With my supercharger and mods and recreating an all new tune it only took the guy 1-1.5 hours.

Best bet is to call around and ask the shops. Explain to them your mods and they will tell you a quote. You dont have too many mods so it should be a fairly quick and easy tune. Also research online. Then of course call
