Default Battery Relocation

For anyone that's done this, is it worth buying the Steeda kit with everything included or am I better off just getting the box from Taylor and buying some cables? How easy of an install is this?

I just bought the whole kit. The install was not hard, but I did spend a little time getting everything just like I wanted it. Just be sure to tie up the new cables well and keep them away from sharp edges.

I suggest this mod for anyone who likes to make passes at the track. It is nice to get 38lbs off the front corner and moved to the right rear where it actually does some good.

Was there anything that came with the kit you needed other than the cables that doesn't come with just a Taylor box? I'll be getting a switch as well. I'd hate to spend $280 for something that I can do for half of that if I can.

If you are running at the track, I think you need a shut-off that is accessible from outside your vehicle. I just helped a friend do one on his EVO and he just put a circuit breaker in the trunk. I told him that it is all good for performance but, I think they will deny him if he goes to the track.

I have wanted to do this for a while too... Aways worried about track rules and I think they in fact do require I switch on the outside of the car that will not just disconnect the battery but turn the car off as well.

Any good spot for a switch that makes it so people are not messing with it when its parked? I was thinking of removing the trunk lock and having it go through there when I'm at the track and then bolt the lock back in place when I'm not. Anyone else try that?

The tracks around here don't do any type of safety inspections. Track has to actually look at your car to know you moved the battery.

I notched a hole in my trunk lid for my shut off. Also note that it has to be a push off safety switch as nhra rules go. Ill post pics when I get home. I'm in school At the moment on my phone.

If you want to save a little money, go with UPR's kit instead. Here's a link...

Put my switch behind the plate. I can remove the handle easily when not at the track.
