Default Just finished installing Solid Motor Mounts....

I have to say what a great mod this is. My old mounts didn't look to bad but they must have been on their way out because the car really digs in and thrusts forward, its quite a noticeable difference for me. Theres no difference at idle from the stock mounts its nice and smooth, just goes to show how well balanced these motors are. Also Shifting for me has greatly improved, it just goes in so much smoother than before. So if anyone out there is skeptical about solid mounts don't be they aren't that bad at all. They vibrate your car more as you accelerate but nothing crazy and it smooths out around 2700+. Highway cruising is fine vibration free. I also love seeing the whole car move when chucking revs its great

The main reason I did these was to pinpoint whats causing my shifter to rattle at certain RPMs. I replaced my tranny mount with a new stock mount. Its still rattling but not as bad, next is the U-Joints on my DS and if that's not it then its probably my flywheel which came off my blown motor and was just resurfaced.

Stiff mounts are good, but solid solid can be sketchy. Something must give, I've seen guys (not on a mustang platform) crack tranny cases and certain brackets because of solid mounts. Rubber is great for absorbing shock loads so things don't snap, so it's all a judgement call IMO.
