I did this last summer, then I got bored of being wingless and put my spoiler back on. I bought the plugs from Lowe's. Any hardware store will have them. They're just like little plastic caps that come in different sizes (the holes on my decklid were different sizes, the two front were the same and the two back ones were a different size from the front ones). You may have to look around a while in the hardware section to find these little guys...

Yeah I got my plugs at Lowes. For the 99-00 Stangs you need 5 plugs that are 3/8'' and 1 plug that is 1/2''. They near the bolts/screws/misc ****.

Also, can anyone explain that? Why are there 6 holes in the trunk lid but only 4 bolts on the spoiler?

My 2004 GT decklid has only 4 holes. Pretty sure the two are 3/8'' and the other two were 1/2''. I don't remember, but that sounds right.

I know mine is metal. Still with proper body work "filler" and a good sealer, then paint, you woulnt see it. But its hard to find someone who can do proper body work.

Plugs work for short term, but just as a note, I went this route for a while, but then the paint started peeling and chipping near the holes.

So I just put my spoiler back on until I can get it done properly.
