anyone ever install a shifter boot on a 2002 mustang GT 5speed? i have a new boot but my old boot was stapled and to a metal ring and the ring was attached to the plastic bezel by plastic welds...

Whats the BEST way to install my new boot. Should I just try some RTV sealant and bond it to the plastic bezel itself..?

 

Does it have a reverse hem at the bottom, like the stock boot?

If so here's how I made mine, with a narrative description of how I fastened it using that gray 3M double sided tape made for emblems and the like--it's been on there for 4+ years now...
