Default Might be getting a ZEX wet kit, have a few ques

Next week I might be getting a ZEX wet kit from americanmuscle. I have read up about running this on a bascially stock engine and it seems like theres alot of people doing it without any problems. But I do have a couple questions. It says that your cars fuel pressure must be at least 40psi and was wondering if anyone knows what the fuel pressure on a 98 GT is or should be? And my next question is for anyone who has installed a nitrous kit on their cars. What did you guys upgrade or replace (if anything) to make this kit work? Like a bigger throttle body, plenum, new fuel injectors (what size) and if you upgraded your fuel pump. Getting tired of my buddy beating me in his camaro by a car length at the drag strip. Thanks guys.

Honestly i'd scratch the ZEX kit and go for the NX kit from AM. NX and NOS make the best kits IMO.

What size shot are you going to run?

I had a friend buy the same Zex kit and the box failed and leaked fuel inside the engine bay. Thank god he found it in time. U don't really need to up your fuel pump untill u go above 125 shot, however it couldn't hurt. All the regular bolt ons work well with the nitrous.

I don't know what r fuel pressure is in our car. sorry couldn't help.

Wasnt going too big, most likely 75 to 100 shot. I will check out the NX kit. Other than the price, whats the difference between the ZEX kit and the NX kit?

The solenoids are the difference in those kits. NX makes some of the best solenoids. There are other options also, Harris Speedworks, Dynotunenitrous, Compucar, Edelbrock, etc...

Don't get me wrong i'm not bashing Zex, i just think there are better alternatives. Like Tim said it's mainly the difference in solenoids.

Ok, I found two kits that come with everything needed for installation. One is from dynotune, here's the link from ebay.

And the other one is the NX kit from americanmuscle, here's the link.

Now my question is, the one from NX operates from the plate system and the one from dynotune taps into the fuel line. Which one would be better? Sorry for the questions, but I am new to the nitrous world.

They're both going to work just fine, but i prefer the NX kit. It really boils down to preference, just like a lot of things. I almost never hear bad things about NX. I have a good friend that runs their kit as well, and it works perfectly.

I just took my new ZEX kit to the track for the first time tonight. I have a Bullitt so the plate kits won't work on my intake configuration. I am running a 100 shot and making 380rwhp/445torque (around 280rwhp on motor). I installed TR6 pugs gapped at .035. Added a window switch and bottle heater to round out my set-up. DYNO TUNE is the way to run nitrous safely. VERY risky to run nitrous without a tune or real time A/F monitoring device.

Had a lot of trouble getting my 60' right tonight (I put my 3.73 gears back in to replace my 4.10s since I figured I would pick up ~8mph and be turning too many rpm in 4th gear with 4.10s). The car is bogging on launch with the 3.73s. I REFUSE to abuse my DD clutch with much slipping on takeoff. I ran 12.185 @ 117.96mph with a 1.941 60'. It should run 11.7s if I can get my 60' back into the 1.7s.

I LIKE MY ZEX KIT!!!
