Personally, I wouldn't get 4.30 gears, unless you love to shift. I would go with the 4.10's. You get off the line quick and even if you don't start from a stand still you'll still have enough torque to beat him. I would go with the supercharger or either a turbo IMO.

Well fortunately for dodge the two cars are in different classes. But even the challenger weighs a ton. Chrysler in general uses the same frame for the charger/challenger/300 to save money ( almost positive on this)

The OP is already looking at 4.30's, tune, CAI, and a cat back...more than enough to take out the R/T.

This is true. All of these cars share the same platform, which is based off an old Mercedes e-class. Also the charger has 2.82 gears.

I don't know how this helps, but it's good info.

i used to destroy Chargers with my V6 at 276 rwhp and 299 torque with 4.10s. it got even better when i got tires that could hook

The Charger is NOT very quick in stock trim, so it won't take very much to out run him. 4.10 gears is a great start! Decent tires will help to get it moving from a stand still. A small shot on nitrous (50hp) would be more than enough to easily walk all over the Charger. You don't need the same amount of power since you have FAR LESS weight.
