Default SCT data logging help

I want to do some data logging with my SCT X3, but I am not too sure where to start. Do I need to download something before I start? I tried SCT's website, but could not find anything about data logging. Any help would be great.

I wanna say you download SCTs computer software(i think its called livewire or something like that). Then plug your tuner into the car and datalog, download the file to your computer afterward and review the file.

Im not 100% but im pretty sure thats how you do it.

are you sending the file to be analyzed? If I remember right when I data logged my car there was just a bunch of #'s that made no sense to me.

This is from SCT's website, in the X3/SF3 FAQ:

Here is a walkthrough for datalogging on the device using the X3 or the SF3.
  • Plug in the X3/SF3 to the vehicles OBD2 port.
  • Scroll down to Data Logging, Press Select.
  • Then Scroll down to Setup Monitor, Press Select.
  • Config Analog Inputs? Select Yes or No, answering yes will allow you to connect a wideband or any other 0-5V component to the device analog input
  • Pick Diesel or Gas, then press select.
  • You are now ready to pick the pids.
  • Select them by highlighting them and then pressing select. You’ll notice that an Arrow will show next to the PID once selected.
  • You can select up to 20 Pids. NOTE: Default parameters are generated from a generic list of readable PCM parameters. It is possible that some pids shown will not be log able on your particular vehicle.
  • Press Cancel to Exit from the list of Pids.
  • This will bring you to a Save Data Configuration Menu.
  • Select – Save OK, Left – Back, Cancel – Exit
  • Start Data Logging
  • Select – OK, Cancel – Exit
  • A Message will display stating to make sure the vehicle is running, press Select to Start Recording.
  • Once The Log has started, you can press LEFT/RIGHT arrows to view additional PIDS.
  • Select will Stop Recording.
  • Cancel will Exit the Log.

You can Review this Log using a Computer with Livelink 4.24 or greater installed.
  • Once 4.24 is installed and open…
  • Press: File/ Import Data log file from X3/livewire, a pop up box appears.
  • Select Datalog0.dat from the list, then Press Ok.
  • This will open and display the saved datalog.
There are also a couple pages in the manual that describe data logging.

I am going to send it to my tuner. I am waiting until later today when it gets a little warmer. I want to see how this intercooler is doing and what my IAT's are. Plus I want to check some other parameters. Livelink is loaded on my laptop and ready to go.
